What is LaseMD Ultra™?

LaseMD Ultra™ is a modern laser device that transports valuable active ingredients into the skin via laser microchannels and thus stimulates skin regeneration from within. In the process, nanosized cosmeceuticals are introduced into the skin. The underlying skin layer absorbs the ingredients and the microchannels are gently closed. The LaseMD Ultra™ is a non-ablative fractional thulium laser - the corneal layer remains undamaged.

Thanks to the integrated cosmeceutical delivery system, the ingredients of the following LaseMD ampoules can penetrate the skin in a controlled manner and control the therapy individually for the patient. The active ingredients contain no preservatives or chemicals and are suitable for various instances.

VC AMPOULE (ASCORBIC ACID)

Vitamin C is known for its antioxidant effect and protects the skin from free radicals. It reduces the signs of skin ageing, especially in very photo-aged skin, by helping to build healthy collagen structures and cell regeneration.

VA AMPOULE (RETINOL)

Vitamin A or retinoic acid acts as an anti-ageing agent and activates cell renewal by promoting collagen production in a natural way.

TA AMPOULE (TRANEXAMIC ACID)

Tranexamic acid lightens the skin and is ideal for treating melasma, pigmentation marks and scars.

RS AMPOULE (RESVERATROL)

Resveratrol acts against free radicals and supports the skin in the collagen formation and regeneration process. In addition to its skin-rejuvenating properties, the active ingredient also has anti-inflammatory properties and stabilises the skin's defences.

Advantages of LaseMD Ultra™

What are the advantages of LaseMD Ultra™?

The following advantages are associated with LaseMD Ultra™:

  1. Gentle laser therapy: The thulium laser opens small micro-channels to transport the ingredients to the underlying skin. It is a non-invasive procedure and the session is painless for the patient. The surface of the skin is not removed during the treatment and is therefore not damaged. The patient can return to their normal social life immediately after the session.
  2. Direct and long-lasting effect: The skin benefits from the treatment immediately after the session by looking radiant, firmer, and more even. In the weeks and months that follow, the skin continues to regenerate and build up its defences.
  3. Mostly applicable at any time of the year: The active ingredients penetrate the skin during the treatment while the upper corneal layer remains intact. The skin is not as sensitive to the sun as with a strong peeling or an ablative laser therapy. However, it should be noted that depending on the ingredient, the skin may also lighten and be treated against pigmentation spots. In such cases, we recommend that the treatment be performed during the autumn and winter months.
  4. Versatile results: LaseMD Ultra™ therapy works for many issues, which are caused by the progressive, natural ageing process on the one hand, or by acne, injuries or light exposure on the other. It is a non-invasive method that stimulates the cells from the inside. Therefore, it is in turn also suitable as a preventive, prophylactic anti-aging measure.

Further advantages include:

  • No general anaesthesia, but light anaesthetic with local anaesthetic ointment
  • No incision and no scars
  • Good tolerance according to experience

Who will benefit from LaseMD Ultra™?

The treatment is suitable for all skin types and is recommended for patients who want to improve the skin's appearance from the inside out using valuable ingredients. This includes not only skin rejuvenation, but also accelerated wound healing, activation of the skin's self-healing powers and reduction of pigmentation marks and scars.

The LaseMD Ultra™ is also aimed at patients who want a painless and effective method where they can resume everyday activities immediately after treatment or cannot afford any downtime.

Yes. LaseMD Ultra™ can be performed on both men and women.

For treatment with the thulium laser, we recommend avoiding sunbathing and solarium visits before and after the session. For optimal results, we recommend regular use of sunscreen during aftercare.

Prior to treatment, we always conduct a consultation and analyse your skin for current irritations. You would then inform us if you are ill or if you are undergoing treatment and taking medication.

The treatment is not suitable for irritations, skin rashes, skin allergies or damaged skin. This also includes acute herpes and inflammatory acne. Also easily irritated skin or the intake of certain photosensitising medicines (incl. vitamin A tablets) exclude the application. The treatment is also not recommended in the case of wound healing disorders or a weakness of the connective tissue, as well as in the case of a strong tan.

The treatment is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What areas can be treated with LaseMD Ultra™?

LaseMD Ultra™ can be applied to the face, neck and décolleté as well as the body.

When you come to our practice for your treatment, we can discuss the possible areas that could benefit from this procedure. We offer consultations so you can learn more about your options before deciding if LaseMD Ultra™ treatment is right for you.

Procedure: How does a LaseMD Ultra™ treatment proceed?

1. Preliminary discussion /consultation:

At the beginning of the first session, our expert will have a consultation with you. This will determine your desired result and treatment zone, as well as whether the LaseMD Ultra™ is suitable for you. We inform you about possible risks and the realistic results to be expected. We will then agree on the type and duration of LaseMD Ultra™ treatment, including cosmeceuticals, to achieve optimal results.

2. Before the treatment:

After the consultation, the session is started. According to the preliminary consultation, the area to be treated is cleaned and an anaesthetic ointment is applied.

3. During treatment:

The laser head is rolled several times over the affected skin area and shoots permeable micro channels into the skin. Directly afterwards, the respective ingredients of the ampoule are applied. This is followed by a care mask and the appropriate moisturiser.

4. After the treatment:

We give you the remaining contents of the ampoule after the treatment. The skin is slightly reddened and well supplied with blood. You can apply make-up the next day and go about your desired activities.

You can apply the active ingredients in the following days in the morning and in the evening until they are used up.

If you experience any prolonged side effects or other discomfort after the treatment, you can contact us at any time. We are here for you.

What to expect with LaseMD Ultra™?

Thanks to modern technology, laser therapy offers a huge range of possible applications. Therefore, expectations differ depending on the chosen form of therapy and treatment goal. In general, it can be said for all treatments that the mode of action of the ingredients enables optimal absorption in the underlying skin layer. This refreshes the skin without damaging the skin surface. No ablation of the skin is needed to achieve this permeability. A radiant skin with a balanced skin texture and a brighter complexion can be expected.

The result depends on the individual reason for treatment, the type of therapy and the initial situation as well as the treatment goal. We recommend a series of 5 treatments at intervals of 2 weeks to achieve optimal results. The first successes are often already visible after the first sessions.

Does LaseMD Ultra™ help against stretch marks?

Yes. Laser therapy offers an effective method of treating stretch marks.

How does a LaseMD Ultra™ work?

The LaseMD Ultra™ treatment uses a thulium laser to emit a micro-laser beam. This opens micro-channels that are permeable to nanoparticles. Depending on the type of therapy, cosmeceuticals are then introduced directly into the skin. In this way, valuable ingredients can be absorbed into the dermis and effectively unfold their effect from the inside out.

How does LaseMD Ultra™ treatment feel and is it painful?

The LaseMD Ultra™ treatment is considered to be painless and a numbing ointment is applied. Heat may be felt during the treatment and afterwards the treated area may be slightly red.

Experience has shown that the treatment is very well tolerated.

What are the possible risks and side effects of LaseMD Ultra™ treatment?

The treated area may be slightly reddened, which subsides after a few hours. Depending on the active ingredient used, the skin may be more sensitive to sun exposure after treatment.

We will be happy to advise you before your treatment about potential risks and whether LaseMD Ultra™ is suitable for you and your desired goals.

How long does the recovery take?

LaseMD Ultra™ requires no downtime.

Can I do sports after the LaseMD Ultra™?

Yes. You can resume your normal activities as usual after LaseMD Ultra™.

How long is the skin sensitive after LaseMD Ultra™ treatment?

The skin may be slightly red after the treatment. Experience shows that this reddening only lasts a few hours. The skin surface is not damaged during the treatment and is therefore intact. The fine micro channels in the skin close gently and the skin is in the process of repair. We therefore recommend that you repeat the next session in 2 weeks at the earliest.

How long does it take to see results with the LaseMD Ultra™?

After the redness subsides, the skin is already better supplied with blood after the first session and looks fresher. Depending on the treatment area, the course of therapy and the reason of treatment, results are achieved at different speeds.

In the case of scars, acne and skin irregularities due to injuries, the skin already looks smoother after the 3rd session and after 5 sessions irregularities are clearly improved.

In the case of pigmentation spots, discolouration and melasma, the improvement is already visible after 1-2 weeks.

Feel free to book a consultation appointment so that we can discuss how many treatments you need to achieve your desired results. This will also allow us to estimate when you are likely to achieve your desired result.

Can I enhance the LaseMD Ultra™ results with additional treatments?

Yes. After the LaseMD Ultra™ therapy, the desired results can be supplemented with peelings or fractional laser therapies.

We will be happy to advise you on other methods to achieve your desired goals.

How long do the results of LaseMD Ultra™ last?

The thulium laser has a wide range of applications. Depending on the reason for treatment, the result can be long-term, such as in case of a scar treatment. Treatments against pigmentary shifts and melasma can also be of a long-term nature, provided that the necessary aftercare is also observed, such as regular sun protection. Success in this regard also depends on the origin of the pigmentation disorder.

The treatment also slows down the skin ageing process and boosts collagen production. How long these results last depend individually on the initial condition of the skin, the patient's lifestyle and expectations.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions depends on the form of therapy and the initial condition. Experience shows that 5 treatments at intervals of 2 weeks are recommended for optimal results. Depending on the treatment goal, the laser therapy can be repeated later.

We offer consultations and would be happy to discuss with you whether LaseMD Ultra™ therapy is right for you and approximately how many treatments are necessary for your goal.

How long does a LaseMD Ultra™ treatment last?

A typical treatment lasts about an hour, depending on the treatment zone.

What makes LaseMD Ultra™ different from other methods? What makes the procedure unique?

The treatment does not damage the top layer of skin and is gentler than ablative laser therapies or peels. The active ingredients can penetrate the underlying skin via microchannels without ablating the skin surface. The patient can comfortably return to their social activities immediately after the session.

Compared to other minimally invasive procedures, the method is painless: no needles are used. Compared to invasive procedures or surgical interventions, the LaseMD Ultra™ is very gentle. No downtime is required and accordingly, side effects as well as late effects are minimal to non-existent.

Other methods can optimise the desired result depending on the objective. We usually recommend this after completion of the laser therapy.

Other advantages over alternative methods:

  • No downtime
  • No surgery required
  • Good tolerance; gentle on the surface of the skin
  • Suitable for all skin types

When and how was LaseMD Ultra™ discovered?

The medical application of laser technology goes back to the 1960s, where the mode of action of laser beams on the skin was studied and later used for medical purposes. Later, the technology developed further and has already been used in dermatology for more than 50 years.

The modern LaseMD Ultra™ system was already approved by the FDA in 2017. Then in 2019, the further development LaseMD Ultra™ was presented for the first time at the Cosmetic Surgery Forum in Nashville, USA.
