How It Is Composed
A protocol is an ordered sequence of coordinated treatments. In the Fat Reduction protocol the zone is cooled first, and the massage then supports mobilisation of the tissue.

How does the protocol work and how long does a session take?
The zones are defined and measured during the consultation. With CoolSculpting® the applicator is placed on the zone and cools the tissue in a controlled way; the massage follows. A session takes around 35 to 60 minutes, depending on the method.
Is the protocol painful, and is anaesthesia used?
At the start of the cooling step an intense cold sensation, pulling or mild pinching is possible, and these usually ease after a few minutes. The massage is often experienced as pleasant. Anaesthesia is not required.
What risks and side effects are possible?
After the cooling step, redness, swelling, numbness or tenderness in the treated zone are possible and usually subside within a few days to weeks. Rarer reactions are discussed during the information talk.
What should I consider before starting the protocol?
Wear comfortable clothing and allow enough time for the session. A stable weight in the weeks before starting makes assessment easier. Tell us about any pre-existing conditions and medication.
What should I consider after a session?
Move as usual after the session and drink enough fluids. A feeling of numbness or tightness in the zone can last a few days. You can reach us at any time with questions as things progress.
How long does recovery take after a session?
Neither method requires actual recovery time, and daily activities are usually possible straight afterwards. Local reactions such as swelling or numbness can, however, remain noticeable for a few days.
When do results become visible?
The change develops slowly, with first differences usually described after around one to three months. Progress is assessed and documented together at a follow-up appointment.
How long do the results last?
With a stable weight, results are maintained long-term. Weight gain can also show in treated zones. Diet and exercise therefore remain part of the overall picture.
How many sessions does the protocol include?
A zone often calls for two or more CoolSculpting® sessions, complemented by massage appointments. The exact number depends on the zone and the goal and is agreed in advance.
Who is the protocol suitable for?
The protocol is aimed at adults with a stable weight and defined fat deposits. It is not a method of weight loss. Whether the desired zone is suitable is assessed in person beforehand.
