PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin and is obtained from your own blood. A blood sample is processed into a gel using a gentle centrifugation method, without additives. Afterwards, this gel is introduced into the chosen areas of skin to support skin regeneration.
The treatment may be an option if you would like to revitalise the skin on your face, neck, décolleté or hands and address fine lines, loss of elasticity or tired-looking skin. Hair loss can also be treated on the scalp. During the consultation, we clarify whether PRF suits your concern and which areas make sense.
Treatment Areas
Face
On the face, PRF can be used for fine lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity. The aim is revitalised, fresher-looking skin.
Eye Area
Around the eyes, PRF may be considered for dark circles, under-eye bags and tired-looking skin. The eye area is treated as a separate zone.
Neck and Décolleté
In these two areas, the treatment can help to firm and revitalise the skin. Both zones can be treated separately or together with the face.
Skin Texture
Where there is acne scarring or a dull complexion, the treatment can improve the texture and appearance of the skin.
Hands
The hands can also be treated as a separate area. We discuss with you beforehand which concerns are the focus there.
Scalp
On the scalp, PRF is used for diffuse or hormone-related hair loss in its early stages, and as supportive treatment after a hair transplant. The growth factors are intended to stimulate scalp circulation and regeneration around the hair roots.
What is PRF?
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a fibrin matrix obtained from your own blood. It contains platelets (thrombocytes), white blood cells (leucocytes) and growth factors. These components are involved in tissue renewal, and the growth factors are released slowly from the matrix.
For the treatment, a small amount of blood is taken, much like a routine blood test. The blood is then centrifuged, meaning it is gently separated in a special device, to produce a PRF gel. The process uses no anticoagulants or other additives.
The PRF gel is then introduced into the chosen areas of skin, either at specific points with fine needles or using the mesotherapy technique. The technique is adapted to the area being treated.

If needed, sensitive areas are prepared with a numbing cream. The PRF is then introduced at specific points with fine needles or using the mesotherapy technique. The whole appointment takes around 45–60 minutes.
Aftercare
Any redness or minor swelling generally subsides within a day. You receive guidance for the time afterwards and know whom to contact with any questions.
Further Sessions
For skin rejuvenation, 1–3 treatments at intervals of 4–6 weeks are usually sufficient. For the scalp, a course of 4–8 sessions is planned, followed by maintenance treatments every 12 months.

How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
After the consultation, blood is taken and processed into PRF gel. The gel is then injected into the agreed areas, either as individual injections or by mesotherapy, depending on the area. The entire treatment takes around 45–60 minutes.
Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
The treatment is generally well tolerated. On sensitive areas, we apply a local anaesthetic cream beforehand. Taking the blood sample is similar to a routine laboratory test.
What risks and side effects are possible?
Slight redness or swelling may occur after the treatment and usually settles after a day. The PRF gel is made from your own blood, without additives. A doctor discusses your individual risks and suitability with you in detail before the treatment.
What should I consider before the treatment?
Before your appointment, you receive clear instructions on how to prepare, including on any medication you take. During the consultation, we clarify whether PRF is an option for you and what you should bear in mind in your case.
What should I consider after the treatment?
After the treatment, you receive care instructions and a contact person for any questions. Any redness or swelling usually fades over the course of a day. We arrange follow-up treatments and check-ups where they are useful.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
You can usually return to social activities straight after the treatment. Slight redness or minor swelling may occur and normally fades within a day.

When do results become visible?
With skin treatments, first results are often visible after a few days. With scalp treatment, the effect usually becomes apparent after 4–8 weeks, with visible hair growth from around 3 months. How quickly and how clearly the skin changes varies from person to person. We discuss in advance which changes are realistic in your case.

On the skin, the effect usually lasts 3–6 months. For scalp treatment, the initial course is followed by maintenance treatments every 12 months. We discuss during the consultation when a follow-up treatment makes sense for you.
How many sessions are usually needed?
For the skin, one to three sessions four to six weeks apart are usually sufficient. A scalp course usually comprises four to eight sessions, followed by a maintenance treatment once a year. The exact number depends on your skin and the area treated.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
PRF may be an option if you would like to regenerate your skin or hair using your body’s own active components. It is considered particularly for early skin ageing with loss of elasticity or tired-looking skin, and for hair loss. During a personal consultation, we assess whether the treatment is suitable for you.
How much does the treatment cost?
Prices depend on the area: the eye area costs CHF 400, the décolleté CHF 500, the hands CHF 600, and the face or neck CHF 700 each. Face, neck and décolleté together cost CHF 1’000. Scalp treatment costs CHF 600 as a single treatment or CHF 2’000 as a package of 4. As an aesthetic treatment, PRF is usually paid for privately.
