Plasmage® is a patented Fractional Plasma® technology: controlled plasma pulses are delivered point by point to the skin surface, with no surgical incision required. The technology is used to tighten the skin and to treat superficial skin concerns. This can make the treated skin look visibly firmer and smoother.
Plasmage® is particularly suitable for delicate, hard-to-reach areas such as the upper and lower eyelids, and it is also used for wrinkles, the neck and décolleté, certain scars and stretch marks. The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis, and any temporary redness, swelling or small crusts settle as part of normal healing. During your consultation, we clarify which areas to treat and whether the method suits your skin.

Treatment Areas
Before treatment, a doctor assesses whether Plasmage® is suitable for your concern.
Upper Eyelids (Blefaroplasma®)
On the upper eyelid, Plasmage® can precisely treat loose skin without a surgical incision. This can reduce excess skin and make the eyes look more open and defined.
Lower Eyelid and Eye Area
The skin of the lower eyelid and the delicate eye area can be treated in a targeted way. The focus here is on fine lines and mild skin laxity.
Wrinkles and Fine Lines
Plasmage® can be used for fine to more pronounced wrinkles, particularly around the eyes and mouth. The controlled plasma energy can contribute to a smoother-looking complexion.
Neck and Décolleté
On the neck and décolleté, Plasmage® can tighten loose skin. The treatment can reduce fine lines and improve skin texture in these areas.
Scars
Plasmage® can improve certain scars, including acne scars and selected scars from injuries or surgery. The treatment supports controlled renewal of the skin and can improve its texture.
Stretch Marks
Plasmage® can also be used on stretch marks. The plasma energy targets the affected skin and can help improve the appearance and texture of the marks.
How does Plasmage® work?
Plasmage® uses patented Fractional Plasma® technology. Plasma is ionised gas: a controlled plasma arc forms between the tip of the handpiece and the skin, without the handpiece touching the skin. The energy reaches the skin surface at a very precise point and sublimates the superficial skin layer there, meaning that this layer is vaporised in a controlled way.
The energy is delivered fractionally: small areas of skin between the treated points remain untreated, which supports controlled healing. The treated tissue contracts, and the skin continues to renew itself over the following weeks. This can leave it looking smoother, firmer and more even.
The device offers different intensity and fractionation settings, so energy delivery can be adapted to the area being treated, the skin and the goal. This precise control makes the technology particularly suitable for delicate, hard-to-reach areas such as the eyelids.

Why Plasmage® at Aesthetics Medical?
Precision Around the Eyes
Plasmage® calls for precise application, especially around the eyelids. In such small, sensitive areas, controlled energy delivery is essential.
Tailored Settings
We choose the energy and fractionation level to suit your skin type, skin condition, treatment area and desired result.
Outpatient, No Incision
Plasmage® tightens the skin on an outpatient basis and requires no surgical incision. It is therefore an option for people who prefer a non-surgical approach.
Clear Information
Before treatment, we talk you through the healing process, possible pigmentation changes and the risk of scarring. Alternatives to Plasmage® are also part of this conversation.
Natural-Looking Tightening
The aim is visibly firmer, smoother skin that preserves your natural anatomy and individual expression.

What does the treatment involve?
Consultation
We discuss your wishes and examine the area to be treated. We assess your skin condition and elasticity and determine whether Plasmage® is suitable for you.
Preparation
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected. Depending on the area, a numbing cream or local anaesthetic is used.
Plasma Treatment
Using the Plasmage® handpiece, controlled plasma pulses are applied to the skin point by point. The energy is adjusted to the area and the intensity required.
Check and Care
Straight afterwards, the treated area is checked, soothed and cared for. You receive detailed recommendations for the first few days.
Healing Phase
Redness, swelling and small superficial crusts are part of normal healing and usually settle within a few days. As the skin continues to renew itself, the change develops over several weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
After cleansing and disinfection, the skin is prepared with a numbing cream or local anaesthetic, depending on the area. The handpiece then places controlled plasma points systematically on the skin surface, after which the area is checked and cared for. A session lasts about 15 to 60 minutes, according to the area treated.
Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
Plasmage® is generally well tolerated, with each person experiencing it slightly differently. For greater comfort, a numbing cream or local anaesthetic is used, depending on where you are treated. We discuss beforehand which option suits you.
What risks and side effects are possible?
Common temporary reactions include mild redness, which usually fades within a few hours, a feeling of tightness and small crusts on the treated spots. The crusts fall off by themselves after 3–7 days, and mild, temporary swelling may occur on the eyelids. Rarely, insufficient sun protection can lead to pigmentation changes and improper aftercare to prolonged redness; scarring is very rare and is mostly linked to picking at the crusts. Your individual risks and suitability are discussed in detail during the medical consultation before treatment.
What should I consider before the treatment?
Before your appointment, you receive clear instructions on medication and sun exposure. Please let us know beforehand if you take medication that makes the skin more sensitive to light or if your skin is very heavily tanned. When planning, bear in mind that small crusts may be visible on the treated points for about 3–7 days.
What should I consider after the treatment?
Allow the small crusts to fall away on their own, as picking at them can, in rare cases, lead to scarring. Consistent sun protection after every plasma treatment and careful aftercare are also important. We give you detailed recommendations for the first few days straight after your appointment.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
Recovery is short and varies with the area treated. Small crusts on the treated points usually fall off by themselves after 3–7 days, while mild, temporary swelling is possible around the eyelids. Make-up can be worn again after 24 hours, and exercise is possible once the crust phase is over.

When do results become visible?
Initial tightening can be visible immediately after treatment. The skin continues to renew itself over the following weeks, so the change develops gradually during this time. We discuss beforehand what you can expect in your case.
How long do the results last?
How long the change remains visible depends on factors such as the treated area, your skin condition and individual circumstances. The effect can be long-lasting, while the natural ageing process continues. The need for and timing of any further treatment are assessed individually.
How many sessions are usually needed?
Usually 1–3 sessions are needed, depending on the treatment area and goal. A repeat treatment is possible after 6–8 weeks. We decide how many appointments make sense for you once we have assessed your skin.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
Plasmage® is mainly an option for loose skin on the upper and lower eyelids, and also for wrinkles, sagging skin on the neck and décolleté, certain scars and stretch marks. Reasons not to treat include pregnancy and breastfeeding, active skin infections in the treatment area, a tendency to keloids (excessive scar formation), very heavily tanned skin, photosensitising medication and unrealistic expectations. We clarify during a consultation whether Plasmage® is right for you.
How much does the treatment cost?
Treatment of the upper or lower eyelids costs CHF 300 each, or CHF 500 for both areas together. The neck costs CHF 450 and the décolleté CHF 500, with prices for other areas on request. As an aesthetic treatment, Plasmage® is usually paid for privately, and we confirm the exact amount after your consultation.
