MCT Exosomes is a treatment in which exosomes are prepared from your own blood and then injected into the skin. Exosomes are microscopic vesicles that occur naturally in the body and carry messenger substances. The treatment aims to improve skin texture, elasticity and the overall appearance of the skin.
It may be considered for signs of skin ageing such as fine lines and reduced elasticity, for acne scars and other scars, and for pigmentation changes. Treatment areas include the face, neck, décolleté and hands. During the consultation, we clarify whether the method suits your concern and which changes are realistically achievable.

What are MCT Exosomes?
The name MCT stands for MetaCell Therapy, a method in which the body’s own exosomes are activated with the MCT system and prepared for injection. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles, meaning microscopic bubbles that occur naturally in the body. They carry messenger substances, including growth factors, proteins and lipids.
The starting material is platelet-rich plasma (PRP), obtained from a small amount of your blood. Using the MCT kit, the PRP is treated in the MCT device with specific light and a controlled temperature. This photothermal activation is intended to stimulate the release of exosomes.
The activated exosomes are injected into the intended areas of skin immediately afterwards. The aim is to stimulate the skin’s collagen and elastin production. Combining the treatment with other aesthetic treatments is possible and is planned case by case.

What does the treatment involve?
Consultation
In a detailed consultation with Dr. med. (I) Ranieri Mazzei, your skin condition, your wishes and the changes that can realistically be achieved are discussed. This is also when we clarify whether it is an option for you.
Blood Collection
A small amount of blood is drawn from a vein in your arm, much like a routine blood test. PRP is obtained from this blood. A numbing cream can also be applied to the treatment areas if you wish.
Photothermal Activation
The PRP is treated in the MCT device using the MCT kit, specific light and a controlled temperature. This step is intended to support the release of exosomes.
Injection
The activated exosomes are then injected precisely into the agreed areas of skin using fine needles.
Aftercare
Mild redness or swelling usually settles within a few days. For the first 48 hours, you should avoid intense sun exposure and exercise, and stay away from saunas and sunbeds for 2–3 days. Make-up can usually be applied again after 24 hours.

How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
First, a small amount of blood is taken and PRP is obtained from it, which is then activated in the MCT device using light and a controlled temperature. The prepared exosomes are then injected precisely into the skin. The treatment takes about 50 minutes.
Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
The treatment is well tolerated, and most people feel very little pain. The injections are given with fine needles, and anaesthesia is usually not required. A numbing cream can be applied beforehand if you wish. The blood collection is comparable to a routine blood test.
What risks and side effects are possible?
Mild redness and swelling at the injection sites, as well as temporary tenderness, may occur. These reactions usually settle within a few days. You will learn which risks apply to you during the pre-treatment discussion.
What should I consider before the treatment?

For the first 48 hours, avoid intense sun exposure and exercise, and use SPF 50 sun protection consistently. Stay away from saunas and sunbeds for 2–3 days. Leave out strong irritants, peels and harsh skincare for a few days; make-up can usually be worn again after 24 hours.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
Downtime is minimal: most people can return to their usual activities straight afterwards and are usually fit for work the same day. Visible redness or swelling often subsides within 24–48 hours. You can usually wear make-up again after 24 hours.

How long do the results last?
Results typically last 6–12 months and may last longer with regular maintenance treatments. How long the effect lasts depends on your skin type, age, lifestyle and the concern being treated.
How many sessions are usually needed?
Generally, 3 sessions about 3 weeks apart are recommended. After this initial course, maintenance treatments may follow after 3–6 months, depending on your treatment goal. We agree the exact plan together with you.
