Part of our protocol Lifting Natural
Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, tiny particles suspended in a carrier gel. The treatment combines two effects: it adds volume and at the same time stimulates the body’s own collagen production, which contributes to skin structure.
As we age, the skin loses elasticity and volume, which can lead to wrinkles and a tired appearance. Radiesse® may be considered for early loss of volume or elasticity, including in the nasolabial folds, cheeks, chin or jawline. During the consultation, we clarify which areas are appropriate for you.

Treatment Areas
Radiesse® can be used on the face, on the backs of the hands and on areas of the body that have lost volume.
Nasolabial Folds
The folds between the sides of the nose and the corners of the mouth can become more prominent as volume decreases. Radiesse® can add volume here and stimulate collagen formation.
Marionette Lines
Marionette lines run from the corners of the mouth towards the chin. Added volume can help the skin in this area look smoother.
Cheeks and Chin
On the cheeks and chin, Radiesse® is used for contouring. The aim is to support the facial contours while preserving your natural appearance.
Jawline
Along the jawline, Radiesse® can be used to give the contour of the lower face more definition.
Backs of the Hands
Radiesse® may be an option for the backs of the hands when the skin there has lost volume and elasticity.
Body Areas
Radiesse® can also be used on areas of the body that have lost volume. We assess on an individual basis which areas are suitable.
How does Radiesse® work?
Radiesse® is an injectable dermal filler consisting of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a carrier gel. The product is injected into deeper skin layers. It is also described as a biostimulator because it stimulates collagen formation.
This composition has a dual effect. A volumising effect may be visible directly after injection, while natural collagen production is stimulated over a longer period.
Collagen contributes to the firmness and structure of the skin. As additional collagen forms, skin structure can improve over time, with the final result becoming apparent after around 2–3 months.

Why Radiesse® at Aesthetics Medical?
Two Effects Combined
Radiesse® can add volume while also stimulating the body’s own collagen production. The treatment therefore addresses both contour and skin structure.
Well Tolerated
The treatment is generally well tolerated and involves a short downtime.
Medical Discussion First
Before any injection, a doctor goes through your suitability, the product, the expected course and possible injection risks with you.
Planned Around Proportions
During the consultation, we assess your skin, facial expressions and proportions. This determines which areas are treated.

What does the treatment involve?
Consultation
We discuss your goals and assess whether Radiesse® is suitable for the areas you have in mind.

You receive preparation instructions before your appointment. Before the injection, the skin is cleansed and, if required, anaesthetised.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
First, we cleanse the skin in the agreed area and use anaesthesia if required. Radiesse® is then injected into deeper layers of the skin. The treatment takes around one hour in total.
Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
The treatment is generally well tolerated, although sensations vary from person to person. If required, anaesthesia is used before the injection to make the treatment more comfortable. We agree on the use of anaesthesia with you in advance.
What risks and side effects are possible?
Mild swelling, redness or bruising may occur. Nodules or unevenness develop only rarely and can usually be reduced by massaging the area; if you notice anything like this, please contact us. Before treatment, a doctor discusses the possible injection risks in your situation with you.
What should I consider before the treatment?
Every Radiesse® treatment is preceded by a consultation in which we assess your skin, proportions and goals. Before the planned appointment, you receive clear guidance on taking medication and on sun exposure. Anything else to consider in your case is discussed with you in person.
What should I consider after the treatment?
Aftercare includes a massage of the treated areas. You then receive care instructions for the days that follow and know whom to contact with any questions. Mild swelling, redness or bruising is possible during this time.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
Downtime after a Radiesse® treatment is usually short. Mild swelling, redness or bruising may occur during this time. We discuss with you before the treatment how long it may last in your case.

When do results become visible?
A volumising effect may be visible directly after treatment. Because the skin also forms new collagen, the final result becomes apparent after around 2–3 months. How noticeable the change is varies from person to person.
How long do the results last?
Radiesse® can have an effect for up to 18 months. How long it actually lasts differs from person to person. We discuss with you when a repeat treatment may be worthwhile.
How many sessions are usually needed?
As a rule, one session is planned. How many sessions make sense for your goals depends on the areas treated and is clarified at the consultation.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
Radiesse® may be suitable for people with early loss of volume or elasticity, including around the nasolabial folds and marionette lines, cheeks, chin, jawline or backs of the hands. A doctor assesses your suitability during the consultation.
How much does the treatment cost?
Treatment with Radiesse® starts from CHF 700. Aesthetic treatments are usually paid for privately. We give you the exact amount after the consultation, once the treatment areas have been agreed.
