HArmonyCa™ by Allergan Aesthetics is an injectable treatment that combines two components: hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). The hyaluronic acid provides hydration and gentle volume, while CaHA stimulates the body’s own collagen and elastin production over several months. This can make the face look more defined and improve skin texture.
The treatment may be suitable if you would like more definition and better skin quality without an excessive volume effect. Typical concerns include volume loss in the mid and lower face, fine lines and reduced elasticity. During a medical consultation, we assess your facial anatomy and plan which areas to treat.

What is HArmonyCa™?
HArmonyCa™ is an injectable product that brings hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite together in one formula. It also contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. Treatment is intended to gently lift and define the face while improving skin texture.
The effect develops in two phases. First, the hyaluronic acid provides hydration, gentle volume and smoother, more elastic skin, so an initial improvement may be visible straight after the treatment.
The calcium hydroxylapatite then takes effect over several months. It stimulates the body’s own collagen and elastin production, supporting a gradual tightening, so the skin can look increasingly firm and defined. HArmonyCa™ can also be combined with other treatments; any such combination is planned individually.

What does the treatment involve?
Consultation
In a consultation with a doctor, your facial features, any volume loss and your aesthetic goals are assessed. On this basis, your treatment is planned individually.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and disinfected, and the injection points are marked. A numbing cream can be applied beforehand if you wish.
Injection
HArmonyCa™ is injected into the middle layers of the skin in the planned areas using fine needles or microcannulas, on the face often at the cheeks, jawline or cheekbones. A gentle massage then distributes the product evenly. The treatment takes around 30–45 minutes.
Aftercare
Mild swelling, redness or small bruises usually subside within a few days. For 24–48 hours, avoid exercise, saunas and sunbeds, and do not massage the treated areas.
Progress
A first effect may already show after the injection. As collagen stimulation continues, the skin can keep improving over 3–6 months, and the effect can last up to 18 months.

How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
After a medical consultation, the skin is cleansed, disinfected and, if you wish, prepared with a numbing cream. HArmonyCa™ is then injected into the desired skin layers using fine needles or microcannulas and gently massaged so that it spreads evenly. The treatment takes around 30–45 minutes.
Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
The treatment is considered well tolerated, and any discomfort is usually minimal. On request, numbing cream can be applied before the injections to make the treatment more comfortable. HArmonyCa™ also contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic.
What risks and side effects are possible?
The most likely reactions are mild and usually temporary: redness, swelling, small bruises or tenderness in the injection area. These generally settle within a few days. Rarely, small nodules may form, which usually resolve on their own. Your individual risks and suitability are discussed in detail during the medical consultation before treatment.
What should I consider before the treatment?
HArmonyCa™ is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding or with active skin inflammation, so please let us know in advance if any of these apply. Before your appointment, you receive clear preparation instructions, including advice on medication and sun exposure. Anything else relevant to your situation is covered during your consultation.
What should I consider after the treatment?
For 24–48 hours, avoid exercise, saunas and sunbeds, and do not apply pressure or massage to the treated areas. Use sun protection and avoid direct sunlight. Mild swelling, redness or small bruises may occur and generally settle within a few days.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
Significant downtime is not needed, and you can usually return to your usual activities straight after the appointment. Mild swelling, redness or small bruises may remain visible for 1–3 days. We discuss beforehand how much time to allow before important appointments.
