Skinvive™ is an injectable treatment based on hyaluronic acid, a substance that binds water in the skin. The gel is placed into the skin with fine micro-injections and provides it with moisture. In this way, it can visibly improve the skin’s smoothness and elasticity.
The treatment is particularly suited to skin that appears dry, uneven or less smooth, if you would like a fresh, natural-looking complexion. The aim is better skin quality, and adding targeted volume is not intended. At the initial consultation, we clarify which areas can be treated and whether Skinvive™ is suitable for you.

How does Skinvive™ work?
Skinvive™ is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel from Allergan Aesthetics, developed to improve skin hydration and smoothness. The hyaluronic acid it contains is specially cross-linked and is placed into the skin in small, targeted amounts.
It is injected as small microdroplets into the superficial layers of the skin using a fine needle or cannula. There, the hyaluronic acid binds water and helps the skin retain moisture for longer. As a result, the skin can feel smoother, softer and more supple.
As the gel spreads evenly, it can help smooth minor irregularities and refine skin texture, while the added moisture gives the complexion a fresher appearance. Skinvive™ works on skin quality, and your facial features remain unchanged. The improvement develops gradually and can last for up to six months.

Preparation
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected. A numbing cream can also be applied if needed.
Treatment
Skinvive™ is injected in small amounts into the upper layer of the skin using a fine needle or microcannula. The treatment takes around 30 minutes, and the lidocaine in the product can provide additional comfort.
Aftercare
Mild redness, swelling or tenderness may occur afterwards and is usually temporary. You receive individual recommendations for the first few days after the treatment.

How does the treatment work and how long does it take?

Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?
Skinvive™ is generally well tolerated, although mild tenderness is possible. The product contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. If you wish or if needed, a numbing cream can also be applied beforehand.
What risks and side effects are possible?
Redness, swelling, tenderness or small bruises can occasionally occur at the injection sites and usually settle after a short time. Serious side effects are rare. We explain the risks relevant to you before the treatment.
What should I consider before the treatment?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have an active skin infection, please let us know beforehand, as the treatment is not an option in these cases. Ahead of your appointment, you receive clear instructions on medication and sun exposure. Anything else that applies in your case is discussed in person.
What should I consider after the treatment?
Mild redness or swelling usually subsides within a few hours. For the first 24 hours, avoid exercise, saunas and sun, and do not massage or rub the treated areas. Also apply sun protection and avoid UV exposure.
How long does recovery take after the treatment?
Downtime is usually not needed after Skinvive™. This minimally invasive treatment allows you to return to your daily routine straight after the appointment. Simply follow the aftercare advice for the first 24 hours.
