A professional facial takes care of what home care alone often can't reach. Clogged pores, dryness, uneven texture and the first signs of ageing tend to linger, however diligent your routine. For our ZO® facials we work with ZO® Skin Health, the medically inspired skincare line developed by dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi.
Our treatments suit every skin type and age group, from young skin that wants to stay ahead of things to mature skin that shows the years. Men are very welcome too. Every treatment begins with a skin analysis, so that together we decide what your skin needs right now. After that, all you have to do is lean back. One hour of cleansing, active ingredients and massage, and you step back into your day with fresh, glowing skin, usually with no downtime.

Pores and Blackheads
For congested pores, blackheads and excess oil, the focus is on thorough cleansing. Blackheads and surface impurities are removed gently during the treatment.
Blemish-Prone Skin
For mild breakouts and blemishes, the treatment combines extraction, a peel and toning care. With regular appointments, the complexion can appear clearer.
Dry or Dull Skin
Dry, dehydrated or dull-looking skin receives targeted moisture and nourishing care. This can ease feelings of tightness and help the skin look softer and fresher.
Uneven Texture
A gentle peel removes dead skin cells and smooths the surface of the skin. This can help an uneven complexion appear more refined and even.

What is a professional facial treatment?
A professional facial treatment is a multi-step skincare programme tailored to your skin. It combines thorough cleansing, carefully selected active ingredients and a facial massage.
The medically inspired ZO® Skin Health range was developed by dermatologist Dr Zein Obagi. Its products contain concentrated active ingredients, and we select them according to your skin type, skin condition and treatment goals.
The individual steps build on one another: a peel smooths the surface of the skin, and in some treatments warm steam opens the pores to make extraction easier. Serums for hydration, soothing, brightening or the care of mature skin are then worked into the skin. A facial can be booked on its own, form part of a skincare plan or be combined with other aesthetic treatments where this is appropriate.

Skincare for Home
A suitable home routine supports your in-clinic treatments. ZO® Skin Health and Valmont products are available directly at our clinic. If you wish, we put together a personal skincare routine for you to use at home.
Longer-Term Skincare Plan
A facial can be a one-off appointment or one element of a longer-term plan. For regular care, intervals of 4–6 weeks are recommended, in line with the skin’s natural renewal cycle.

Your first consultation takes place in a separate consultation room at Utoquai. Afterwards, you can decide in your own time and without obligation whether to go ahead and which treatment to choose.
What does the treatment involve?
Skin Analysis
First, we look at your skin type, skin condition and any concerns. Together, we then choose a treatment that matches your goal.
Cleansing and Peel
Your skin is cleansed of make-up, sebum and impurities with suitable cleansing products. A gentle peel removes dead skin cells, after which warm steam may be used to open the pores.
Extraction
Blackheads and impurities are gently extracted. A toning lotion is then applied to prepare the skin for the active ingredients that follow.
Serums and Massage
Serums chosen on the basis of your skin analysis are worked into the skin, with the formulation varying between treatments. A facial massage follows, which may be relaxing or sculpting.
Mask and Finishing Care
A nourishing mask with a firming, hydrating or soothing focus is then applied. Once it has taken effect, it is removed, and finishing care with sun protection is applied.

Energy & Destress
When skin looks tired and has lost some of its firmness, this treatment brings it back to life. It activates natural cell function, supports skin renewal and gives the complexion a fresher, more radiant look. Ideal for the first signs of ageing, and a good choice before a special occasion.
Hydra Moisturising
Dry, sensitive or lipid-poor skin gets exactly what it has been longing for. The treatment supports the skin's moisture balance, strengthens the natural skin barrier and can ease that tight feeling. What remains is skin that feels soft, calm and visibly plumper.
Intensive Elasto-Collagen Anti-Age
Mature skin that has lost elasticity and craves moisture benefits from this firming care. It strengthens the skin, plumps it up and stimulates cell renewal. The result is a firmer, smoother and fresher appearance with more resilience.
Deluxe Lifting
A particularly exclusive facial, made for mature skin and for the moments that matter. Firming active ingredients, a sculpting facial massage and an intensely nourishing mask work hand in hand. The result is visibly more defined contours, smoother-looking skin and a radiant presence.
Before the Big Day
A wedding, a shoot, a celebration? The best time for your facial is usually 1 to 2 days before. The ideal timing depends on the treatment you choose. Simply tell us the date of your big day when you request an appointment, and together we will plan the right slot.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the treatment work and how long does it take?
After analysing your skin, we cleanse it, prepare it with a peel and extract impurities gently. Serums, massage and a nourishing mask follow, and finishing care with sun protection completes the treatment. One treatment takes about an hour.
Is the treatment painful?
Usually not. Many people find it truly relaxing, because massage, warm steam and masks turn it into a little break for skin and soul. If any step ever feels uncomfortable, simply tell your specialist during the treatment and we will adjust right away. No anaesthetic is needed.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Our facials are gentle and generally very well tolerated. ZO® Skin Health products are dermatologically tested. With sensitive skin, temporary redness or sensitivity can occur. So that we can protect your skin well, please tell us before the treatment about any allergies, skin conditions and current treatments.
What should I consider before the treatment?
The first step is a consultation with a skin analysis, in which we discuss your concerns. Please let us know at this point if you have sensitive skin or known intolerances. You receive any further preparation instructions, including advice on medication and sun exposure, in good time before your appointment.
What should I consider after the treatment?
You can apply make-up again straight after the treatment. If possible, leave your skin without make-up for a few hours so the active ingredients can absorb well, and wear make-up as usual the next day. Special aftercare is usually not needed, and we are happy to advise you on skincare at home.
Is there any downtime?
Usually none. You can return to your day straight afterwards. Your skin looks cared for and fresh. With sensitive skin, a slight, temporary redness is possible.

When will I see results?
Right after the treatment. Skin glows, feels smoother and better hydrated, and looks more even. With regular appointments, your skin keeps improving. Pores look finer, blemishes decrease and signs of ageing look softer.
How long do the results last?
How long the fresh, well-cared-for look lasts after a single facial depends on the condition of your skin. Regular treatments help to keep your skin in well-cared-for condition. A suitable home skincare routine supports the effect between treatments, and we agree on the right interval during your skin analysis.
How often should I have a facial?
We recommend a treatment every 4 to 6 weeks, in line with the skin's natural renewal cycle. For acute skin concerns, shorter intervals can make sense at the beginning. We are happy to plan a rhythm that fits your life.
Who are professional facials suitable for?
For all skin types and age groups. Younger skin benefits from prevention and clarity, mature skin from firming and moisture. Which treatment suits you best, we work out together during the skin analysis.
How much does the treatment cost?
Prices range from CHF 190 to CHF 390, based on the facial and the area. As an aesthetic treatment, a facial is usually paid for privately. After the consultation, you will know which treatment is suitable for you and what it costs.
Can men have facials too?
Of course. Our treatments are equally suitable for women and men. Men's skin also enjoys thorough cleansing, care and an hour of relaxation. Many men especially appreciate the finer pores and the anti-ageing effect.
Can I combine the treatment with other aesthetic treatments?
Yes, it combines well. LED light therapy or chemical peels are particularly useful for supporting the results further. We are happy to discuss which combination suits your skin during your consultation.
Which facial is right for me?
That depends on your skin and what you wish for. Energy & Destress suits tired skin with first signs of ageing, Hydra Moisturising suits dry and sensitive skin, and Intensive Elasto-Collagen suits mature skin that is losing elasticity. ZO® Skin Health is a medically inspired skincare line developed by dermatologist Dr. Zein Obagi. It relies on highly concentrated active ingredients and current scientific findings, and is designed to work more deeply than conventional cosmetics, for visible and long-lasting results.
What are the benefits compared with home care?
It can do more than you can at home. Pores are cleansed in depth, the active ingredients are more concentrated and targeted massage techniques are added. We also analyse your skin first and tailor every treatment to it. And it is an hour that belongs entirely to you.
Can I have a facial before an important event?
Absolutely. Energy & Destress and Deluxe Lifting work especially well before weddings, shoots and celebrations, as they give the skin an instant glow and a firmer look. The ideal timing is usually 1 to 2 days before the event and depends on the treatment you choose. Just tell us your date when you book and we will plan around it.
Does the treatment help with blemishes and acne?
Pore cleansing, peeling and toning care can noticeably reduce blemishes, blackheads and spots. The toner supports the skin's acid mantle, which is meant to help prevent inflammation. With regular appointments, congested skin often becomes much clearer. For more pronounced acne, we look together at the skin analysis to find the right path.
Can I wear make-up afterwards?
Ideally, give your skin a few hours of rest after the treatment so it can recover and absorb the active ingredients well. If you are in a rush, make-up is possible straight away. From the next day, apply it as usual.
