Profhilo® is a bio-remodelling treatment for skin rejuvenation in which highly concentrated, stabilised hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin. The product spreads within the tissue and stimulates the body’s own production of collagen and elastin. This can help the skin look firmer and fresher, while its quality continues to improve over several months.

Profhilo® is mainly considered for reduced elasticity and firmness, fine lines, and dry or dull skin. Besides the face, it can be used on the neck, décolleté and hands. During the consultation, we assess your skin and decide which areas are appropriate and how many sessions to plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the treatment work and how long does it take?

After a skin analysis, the areas are cleansed and disinfected, and five injection points are marked per side of the face. Profhilo® is then injected and gently massaged in, followed by soothing skincare. Overall, the treatment takes 30–60 minutes.

Is the treatment painful, and is anaesthesia used?

Because very fine needles are used, discomfort is usually minimal. Mild pain may be felt during the injection. Local anaesthesia is possible if needed, and we discuss this with you before the treatment.

What risks and side effects are possible?

Mild redness, slight swelling or mild tenderness may occur at the injection sites and last from a few hours to a few days. Small bruises, mild pain during injection, asymmetries or allergic reactions are rare. We discuss the possible risks with you before the treatment.

What should I consider before the treatment?

First, we assess your skin in an initial consultation and clarify whether Profhilo® is an option for you. Before your appointment, you receive clear instructions on medication and sun exposure. Anything else that matters in your case is discussed at the consultation.

What should I consider after the treatment?

For the first 24 hours, avoid intense sun, strenuous physical activity and heavy sweating, alcohol-based skincare products, and firmly touching or massaging the treated areas. During the first week, please postpone facial massage, peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments. Gentle, moisturising skincare and a high-SPF sunscreen are recommended during this time.

How long does recovery take after the treatment?

In most cases, you can return to normal activities and work directly after the treatment. Make-up can be applied after a few hours, and exercise is possible again the next day. Mild redness may be visible for a short time.

When do results become visible?

The first changes often become visible after 2–4 weeks. The full effect is usually reached after around 8–12 weeks, and skin quality may continue to improve over the following months. When changes appear in your case varies from person to person.

How long do the results last?

The effect of Profhilo® develops over several weeks and can last around 6–9 months. How long it remains visible in your case differs from person to person. Your doctor will discuss with you whether and when a further treatment makes sense.

How many sessions are usually needed?

Often, 2–3 treatments are planned about 4 weeks apart. Your doctor will set the exact number with you, taking into account how your skin responds to the first sessions.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

Profhilo® is mainly considered for people aged 30 and over who notice the first signs of skin ageing, like reduced elasticity or dry, dull skin. The treatment is unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection in the treatment area, or with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid. In cases of autoimmune disease, an individual medical assessment is required.

How much does the treatment cost?

Profhilo® 2 ml costs CHF 500. As several sessions are usually planned, the total cost depends on your treatment plan. Aesthetic treatments are normally paid for privately.
